Why Earth Cycle’s Cow Compost Works Wonders:
Our Cow Manure Compost is packed full of nutrients and is the gardener’s secret weapon for improved growth. It’s a perfect addition to your garden whether you’re tending rose bushes, cropping vegetables, harvesting fruit or nurturing borders.
Root to Tip Benefits:
· Boosted growth: Packed with nutrients, cow compost encourages strong root development, lush shoots, and vibrant bud, flower, and fruit production.
· Nutrient and moisture retention: Rich organic matter helps your soil hold onto both water and essential minerals, giving plants a stable environment even in drier spells.
Organic & Eco-Conscious:
Certified by the Soil Association, our Cow Compost comes from our very own organic dairy herd and contains only natural plant materials with no harsh chemicals or artificial additives. It’s peat-free and supports sustainable farming by recycling agricultural byproducts into garden gold.
Usage Tips:
Spread a layer of Cow Compost around the base of plants in spring and autumn, or mix into beds and borders at a depth of 5–10 cm. For vegetables, rake it in before sowing or planting to improve yield and flavour. Use as a top-dressing for roses to increase flower size and scent.
We also offer Cow Manure Compost in bulk bags, ideal when you need larger volumes for beds, borders or allotments
Ideal for:
· Rose bushes
· Vegetable gardens
· Fruit trees and bushes
· Herbaceous borders
· Improving soil types
Your Cow Compost will be delivered in the format you choose whether that be small bags, bulk bags or pallet quantities. All orders are transported on a pallet via our approved courier network. Deliveries are made kerbside or the nearest safe point that the driver can reasonably access.
Bulk bags are moved using a tail-lift and pallet truck rather than a crane, so the driver needs a firm, level surface to set the pallet down. Grass, gravel and steep gradients may prevent the pallet truck from operating safely. If access is restricted or you are unsure, please contact us on 01243 781730 before ordering so we can advise on the best delivery option.
We’ll send tracking updates once your order has been dispatched. Larger orders may arrive on separate pallets depending on weight and quantity.
48 hour delivery included as standard; next day delivery available from £15.00
Measure the area. If you are filling a raised bed or container, make sure to measure the depth as well. For turf dressing, mulching, and the laying of new topsoil, please refer to our product guides for information on how deep to lay for these purposes.
Make sure you have selected the correct measurement units for each dimension

FAQs
Are Earth Cycle composts organic?
Yes our peat free composts and manure are produced from organic materials with no additives or chemicals added. Our cow manure compost is also produced from our own organic dairy herd!
How much will one bulk bag cover?
At 5cm depth a 1m3 bulk bag (1000 litres) will cover 20 sq/m and a 0.75m3 (750 litres) bulk bag will cover 15 sq/m. Our bulk bag calculator can provide you with the right number of bulk bags to order based on the quantity of compost, topsoil, bark or mulch that you need.
Does topsoil or compost need using straight away?
We'd recommended that you use your products as soon as you can. If that's not possible, cover the bag with a plastic sheet and leave it no longer than a couple of days. Small bags can be left longer and used at a later date.
