Everything you need to know

Give your soil a lasting boost with SoilFixer’s Biochar Granules. Made in the UK from tree and hedge trimmings, this wood-based material helps soil hold onto water and nutrients while creating a welcoming home for soil life.

Healthy plants start with healthy soil. SoilFixer’s Biochar Granules help improve the growing conditions beneath your feet, supporting moisture retention, nutrient availability and beneficial soil life.

Biochar is made by heating woody material with very little oxygen, a process called pyrolysis. This creates a carbon-rich material filled with tiny pores. These pores help hold water and nutrients and provide spaces where beneficial soil microbes can live.

Working alongside plant roots, these microbes and fungi help plants access nutrients. Think of biochar as a lasting addition to your soil, helping create better conditions for growth over time.

These granules are produced from tree and hedge trimmings, prunings and other woody material. Certified to the European Biochar Certificate (EBC) standard, they offer a useful way to return this material to the soil while storing carbon in a stable form.

The 0–13mm grade contains a mix of finer particles and larger granules, suitable for a wide range of garden uses.

Mix biochar into the soil in beds, borders, raised beds and allotments, or add it to compost mixes for pots and planters. It can also be used when planting trees and shrubs or as part of your lawn care.

Apply 1kg per square metre, mixing it into the root zone when preparing beds or planting. For no-dig gardens, apply enriched biochar as a surface dressing.
